Photography is in my blood. My Mom, Dad and brother all love photography. There is something about the art of capturing things we see every day with our eyes and freezing them into pictures to gaze upon just a little longer. I picked up a camera about 12 years ago and within 6 months I was addicted. I loved how it felt in my hands, I loved the sound that the shutter made, and I loved the pictures that it produced. Within the next 6 months, I was booking family shoots left and right, all while my love for photography grew.
As my love for photography grew my family grew right along with it. My husband and I welcomed one, then two, then three sweet baby girls into our young little family. And while I thought I loved photographing other people, what I quickly fell in love with was photographing the everyday moments of my own little family. Of course, I still was booking shoots and (by that time weddings!) but it was the moments at home that kept me going and fueled me.
In 2021 I was offered a job that I could not resist and so from 2021-early 2023 I paused my photography business and worked in the corporate world. It was fun but it was a lot and in late 2022 our little family felt the slower paced, small town of Prescott calling our name. Mid 2023 I resumed my photography business and I am thrilled to be back at it. There is something so refreshing about stepping away and coming back to something you enjoy! And in a new town!
In early 2025 I made the decision to switch soley to studio photography. My husband build me a backdrop in my garage that made it possible to shoot at home. In the last few months I have added studio lighting that has make a huge difference in my images and I can’t wait to keep crafting this art!!
